Membership tiers and what each includes

AGCV membership comes in three tiers. All of them include the free coursework and the public side of the Guild. What you are paying for above Free is the working community, exam discounts, and visibility to firms that hire.

Free - $0 a year

• The free Legal Video Career Path coursework and the three 101 courses
• Member briefing emails
• The Legal Video Forum, our public forum - read and post, no paid membership needed
• Public events and CLE

A free account is a real account. It is the right starting point if you are deciding whether this profession is for you.

Professional - $99 a year

• Everything in Free
• The private, members-only forums and spaces, which need a signed-in member account
• Discounted certification exam fees
• A featured listing in the member directory that firms search
• The member-only calculators: the on-the-record builder, the profitability calculator, and the archival storage planner

Your first credential comes with a free year of Professional membership. You do not need to be a member to sit for an exam, so if certification is where you are headed anyway, the membership arrives on its own. See the credentials.

Firm - $499 a year

• Unlimited employee Professional accounts under one firm account
• Bulk certification seat pricing across those accounts

Built for court reporting firms, litigation support agencies, and law-firm in-house video teams. At five or more videographers, it costs less than buying individual memberships. See the firm program page.

Do I need a certification to join

No. Membership is open to anyone working in or entering the legal video field, credentialed or not. Most members earn their first certification within their first six to twelve months in the Guild.
