Mission

We are advancing the legal video profession.

That tagline is the organizing principle behind every course, certification, publication, and community moment the Guild creates. The work matters because the record matters — and the record matters because, for the 99% of civil cases that never reach trial, the deposition video is the trial.

How we do it — community, courses, and content

Three things. That's what AGCV is.

• Community. A working community of litigation technology professionals — legal videographers, trial techs, court reporters, paralegals, and litigation support. The member directory firms search, the working forum, and the regional CLE. The room where rate cards get sanity-checked and procedure questions get answered by people who've done it.
• Courses. The free Legal Video Career Path orientation course, three free pillar 101s, three masterclasses, and the certification track behind each one — CDVS for depositions, CEVS for evidence, CTTS for trial technology. Earning a credential puts you in the directory and on the rate cards firms search.
• Content. Practitioner-built field guides, articles, the AGCV Code of Ethics, the rate-card benchmarking report, and the resources working members reference between bookings. Written by people who actually do the work, not by marketers describing it.

Audience

We exist primarily for legal videographers — new and experienced — who want to better serve litigators and grow their practice. We also exist for the court reporters, paralegals, and litigation support pros expanding into video. The work is open to anyone with the right knowledge and drive — that's the inclusivity promise from our curriculum.

Where we sit in the profession

NCRA's CLVS is the longest-running deposition credential in the field, and it's a respected one. Cypress College's certificate program is the strongest academic option. Accurate Vision runs the largest staffing-and-training network. Each fills part of the picture.

AGCV is the only U.S. certifying body that issues credentials for all three phases of legal video — capture (CDVS), evidence (CEVS), and trial technology (CTTS) — and we publish the free Legal Video Career Path course that explains the work to newcomers and helps them choose which credential to pursue first. That's the niche we hold and the reason we exist.

How we work

The Guild is run by an elected board of working practitioners. Coursework is reviewed by a curriculum committee. Standards are maintained through a published Code of Ethics. Member dues and course revenue fund the work. There are no outside investors, no parent company, and no sponsorships that compromise the curriculum.
