If you want to stop one specific member from sending you direct messages - without disabling DMs for everyone - you can block them individually.
What blocking does
- They can no longer start or continue a one-to-one DM conversation with you (past messages stay visible, but new ones will not go through).
- You can both still interact normally everywhere else in the community - posts, comments, chat spaces, and group DMs you're both part of are unaffected.
- A "Blocked direct messages" label appears on their view of your profile, and they'll see a "This member is not receiving messages" banner if they try to message you.
What it doesn't do
Blocking someone from DMs doesn't hide their posts or comments, doesn't remove them from shared spaces, and doesn't restrict their access to the AGCV Community generally. If you need help, contact info@agcv.com directly.
How to block someone
From their profile:
- Open their profile (search for them, or click their photo anywhere in the community).
- Click the three-dot More actions menu below their name.
- Select Block direct messages and confirm.
From an existing conversation:
- Open the one-to-one conversation.
- In the right sidebar, click More actions next to their name.
- Select Block direct messages and confirm.
You can review everyone you've blocked at any time from your Privacy settings.
